Research Admin Boot Camp

Sole of BootThe Research Administration Boot Camp was launched in the Spring 2013 and is now offered in the Fall.

We have a final schedule for the Fall 2017 Boot Camp:  Eight sessions starting on Tuesday, October 3 to continue each Tuesday and Thursday through Thursday, October 26.  Please refer to the Calendar of Events for details on each session.

Boot Camp is designed for aspiring, new and seasoned research administrators. The program is intended to help participants develop the self-confidence needed to handle the wide array of tasks, issues and problems that come their way on a daily basis.

  • The program is a four week curriculum that includes two 90 minute classes per week with pre-assignments designed to enhance the classroom discussions.
  • Classes are case study based to develop critical thinking skills, identify key questions to ask and know where to find available resources
  • The curriculum is designed around the award lifecycle and the policies and procedures that are most relevant to each of the phases.  Sessions include:Circular image of grant lifecycle steps

    • Notice of Award
    • Award Management I
    • Award Management  II
    • Close-out
    • To “graduate” from Boot Camp participants can miss no more than 2 of the 8 classes.
