The RA Buddy Program matches new employees with employees who have been with HSPH for some time (typically 12 – 24 months), for a period of three months, with two goals:
- To provide the new employee with a point of contact for general queries regarding day-to-day operational issues, [such as the location of facilities, information processing requirements and relevant policies] and;
- To help the new employee integrate with the HSPH research administration environment by providing access to someone who is familiar with our culture, attitude and expectations.
This document is designed to brief the prospective Buddy about the aims, expectations and roles of the program. It will also help new employees and managers understand more fully the purpose of the Buddy Program.
The Research Administration Buddy Program will primarily assist new grant managers and sponsored programs administrators in the early months of their employment with HSPH.
The coordination of the Buddy Program is done centrally by the Sponsored Programs Administration (SPA) office. Angela Brazeau is the Coordinator of the program (firstname.lastname@example.org or 617-432-8131).
