Longwood Research Administration Boot Camp

footprint2The Longwood Research Administration Boot Camp was launched in the Spring 2013 and is now being offered in the Fall and Spring.

Boot Camp is designed for aspiring, new and seasoned research administrators. The program is intended to help participants develop the self-confidence needed to handle the wide array of tasks, issues and problems that come their way on a daily basis.

More about Boot Camp

  • The program is a four week curriculum that includes two 90 minute classes/week with pre-assignments designed to enhance the classroom discussions.
  • Classes are case study based to develop critical thinking skills, identify key questions to ask and know where to find available resources
  • The curriculum is designed around the award lifecycle and the policies and procedures that are most relevant to each of the phases.  Sessions include:2GrantLifecycle

    • Internal Review Process
    • Pre-award/JIT
    • Notice of Award
    • Award Management I
    • Award Management  II
    • Close-out
    • To “graduate” from Boot Camp participants can miss no more than 2 of the 8 classes.
    • You will find all the supplies that you need on the Research Administration Boot Camp collaborative site.  (Please note:  access to this site is available to Boot Camp participants only.)
